Steps taken by school towards safety of children and staff in campus and during transportation

Schools across the country have different guidelines and laws regarding safety measures. A special counselling team is made to address issues related to child abuse and teach children about bad and good touch. The school also ensures police verification of both teaching and non-teaching staff.

The Supreme Court has issued guidelines for school buses. The following points are seriously taken into consideration by the school:

  • "School Bus” should be written prominently on the back and front of a van or a private bus.
  • The bus should have a medical first aid kit and a fire extinguisher.
  • The driver should not exceed 50km/hr in speed.
  • Window should be fitted with horizontal grills.
  • The bus drivers and conductors should be in proper uniform.
  • There should be at least one conductor on every bus.

The above mentioned points are strictly followed by the school and safety checks are conducted twice a year.

Fire Safety: The school also has fire safety devices. The students and teachers are properly instructed about the use of various equipment like fire extinguishers and sand buckets. The school building is also build to handle any disaster. Mock drill is also conducted twice a year.

Digital Safety: The school also looks after internet safety. Objectional contents and sites are blocked to ensure that no one has the access to such contents.

Health and Hygiene: It also plays a crucial role in the wellbeing of a child. The school also makes it compulsory to see that proper maintenance of the classes as well as the lavatories. Personal hygiene is given prior importance and the students are intimidated regularly to dress neatly.

Safety Measures: CCTV cameras are installed in and around the school premises, so that any unsafe act can be caught. The school has personal guard to monitor the surroundings and activities happening outside the school.
